S30 Engine swap - but which engine?

I think my vote has moved back to the 1jz, having just bought another complete engine/loom/ecu. This was initially purchased for just the long block to fix my blue car temporarily until I rebuild the old engine properly. But at the end it will give me a complete engine setup to put in another zed and leave standard.

Has anyone tried a straight 6 merc turbo diesel with 220bhp and 470nm of torque yet? Got one in a 1.8ton E class and it's no slouch and 45mpg in the donor so expect more in a Z.
