S**t Happens

you are more than welcome steve but you don't want to bring the z club into disrepute by being prosecuted under the obscene publications act surely ??? :D
Oh go on - Michelle and I were only saying the other day about a nice centrefold - not sure about the shaved bits:eek: hope that doesn't happen to you, do you know how much that is going to icth when it starts growing back!!

I have put in a request with the hospital to change your nursing staff - remember you should be resting the old ticker not exciting it!

All the best - hope they let you out soon

they have obviously ignored your request Suzy because "hot lips" is still here :D

they have shaved little patches on my chest to stick the sensors onto so it does look highly ridiculous :D

you might just get your centrefold yet - albeit more of a comedy section than a hunky one. I am not a pretty sight :D pyjamas and wires dont help !

Pyjamas!!!!!

you mean you haven't got one of those very attractive gowns that let you bum hang out?

The photo shoot could be off!!

:D I don't "do" pyjamas but got told wandering around stark b*****k naked was "against procedure" so have shorts and t shirt ones.

the waist is elasticated though so if the bum needs to see the light of day then a swift tug of the shorts and hey presto, instant mauri salute.

been told i will be on anti coagulents for the rest of my life now....... i am too young for all this nonsense. take heed folks - my cholesterol is fine, not too overweight, just a stone or so and yet i am still in here.

look after your selves !

Scary! At 40?!

Get well soon! Did you eat alot of fat or salty things? Lack of exercise? Or is it just a genetic thing?

good diet, cholesterol 4.8 which is ok, non smoker, 16 stone but 6'2 so not too lardy, moderate drinker, never add salt.....

apparently AF (atrial fibrilation) - racing heartbeat ( mine is 170) can be brought on by something as silly as a viral infection. Met a guy here who had a viral infection which attacked his heart and has had a transplant in his mid 40s because of a viral infection of all stupid things.

scary indeed - apparently their biggest worry is a blood clot which could cause a heart attack or a stroke. the drugs are bringing my heart rate down but it creeps back up again.

hospital is so so boring :(

My word! That is scary, seeing as you're fairly healthy too!

Are you on Asprin then... apparently thats what you give to people who have problems with clotting...

Do you have to wear those DVT tight things? :D

Ohh DVT tights - very nice, photo shoot back on!

Zhead how long have you been a Z Club member?
If you let me know what hospital and ward you are on I'll send you some Z Club back issue produced before you became a member.

Might help with the boredom and might keep "hot lips" safe for a bit!

thanks suzy !

best send them to my home address because i seem to move ward frequently

heart rate down to 150 so going in the right direction, fluid all off my lungs now, need another scan and x ray but hope to be out by friday. will have to take anti coagulents which in itself is no problem but they have said strictly no more than 2 small glasses of wine a day!!!!!

how does a man survive without saint emillion ????? DISASTER !!

no dvt tights - a man has to retain a little dignity :D
no aspirin for the same reason as limited alcohol, because they are both anti coagulents and will upset the balance set by the warfarin (anti coag drug) injections into my stomach.

i would have gone mental with boredom without having you lot to grumble at :D thanks !!

as for hot lips being safe suzy, I don't flatter myself that i could play in that league, besides, my wife would kill me :D can't remember the phrase she once used verbatim but it had something to do with a rusty spoon and the inability to ever procreate again.

Take care mate, get well soon. Stepdad just gone through pretty much the same as you, so fully familiar with situation.

Can you look at internet porn there? :D

I was wondering, if a patient was on their death bed and fancied a little look at some norks before he popped his clogs, would the NHS allow it? :D

Andy
Just seen this thread - sorry to hear about your predicament. A right nuisance. My dad has similar problem. Hasn't affected his driving ability though - it was cr*p before and it still is!!

I was wondering what was happening to your project - my Z is currently being sorted by Dave Jarman. When you're up and running we shall go for that drink.

All the best mate.

Yeah, I'm sorry to hear about your sickness.
Hope you wont be suck in there for too long.

All the best,

thanks folks - muchly appreciated.

unfortunately the NHS seems to have a strict no norks policy, lots of error messages that start "oi perv....NO ! ....thou shalt not"

paul, project going well thanks, shell stripped, acid dipped, loads and loads of nice bits brand new in boxes waiting to be bolted on. laurence is on holiday next week and is starting the bulkhead swap the week after.

got a engine builder lined up who can build the engine pretty much on demand

have found new rear and 2 new front bumpers, new front & rear lights, indicators, seals, locks, screen, tailgate allsorts. shed loads from the ever helpful mr f and loads from contacts around the world.

the final build should be very quick because all the parts are almost all sourced now, just have to wait for the shell to be finished.

speed of build will be directly proportional to my ability to pay for each stage completed. the perennial problem.

look forward to a beer - i must get to shrewsbury at least twice a week

it does seem to take forever to get things done even when you have new bits sitting ready. there are alot of cars being done at the moment and most will be finnished for next summer i assume. Well thats my aim, although i maybe wrong its taken me the best part of a week to strip/clean/blast/paint and check an alternator and a starter motor and replace the worn bits......diff/dizzy/box next..........ho hum this is sopposed to be fun im told!!!!!!!!!!!!!

roll on 06, there will be alot more z's at meets i feel........:D

If you require norks go to google.com and instead of searching something, type in the website address and you should be able to browse the site via google! ;)

I dont share your optimism, grolls. sorry.
Looking back over the last 10 years gives me no hope whatsoever that 2006 will be any different from the current trend.
I know there are a few high end restos due out next year but they wont make up for the large numbers that will reach "end of life" status.
The most popular Zed now in the Uk now is the 350Z, and as yet the club has failed to attract significant numbers to join.
Thats not surprising really when you look at the Club's overall profile. But it is a fact nonetheless.
No 2006 will be just like 2005...4 3 etc. Too many events , not enough cars, same old people with just a few newbies to make up for those who have moved on, given up etc.

Im a realist, not an optimist(or a dreamer)
past performance is the best guide we have to future figures. Hence my prediction, based on the fairly stable past. id be delighted to be proved wrong but..............

Project car ?? Flogging off? Well of course, that is the plan! Several expressions of interest both from the UK and Europe, so just down to me to work away to complete it.
Flogging my 240Z??? well I have considered it, but eldest daughter is set dead againt it going soooooooooooooooo I dunno.
I am currently looking at aquiring another slicktop Z32 so who can tell wot will happen.

Only one thing is certain at the moment and that is my disapearance from here off to the Sunny Costa del Sol for a couple of weeks relaxation and recuperation.

I think it would be fair to take a mid view between you both grolls and pmac as you both have very valid views.

yes the 350 is the most popular so if you look from a business standpoint then that is where the most lucrative rewards will be - i aree that as a club we have not attracted lots of 350s because there are lots of much earlier zs here - not appealing to a young guy with serious contemporary street cred wheels....

however, as grolls points out there seems to be renewed interest and "buzz" around the older cars like the S30. Yes there will be natural wasteage with "end of lifers" but there are lots in build as well. If we can keep the status quo and not shrink as a club then in this day and age that is an achievement in itself.
If the number of road worthy, driven zs goes up which i hope it will, then we can collectively hold our heads high and be proud of our little corner of the automotive world.

heart rate down to 110....going in the right direction ! have effectively been doing aerobics for a week, am knackered :D
