Rejoining after 10 years

Hi, I have joined the club again after many years (about a 10 year gap I would think, following my move back to Australia)

Still into Z's (even though I have recently sold my 1970 905 Red HS-30000306)
If you are considering selling a Z that you have restored, owned & loved for ten years..DON'T...you will regret it almost instantly:(

Anyway, good to see the club is still going.

I used to own Mike Feeney's old car DPN 529K, sold it before returning to OZ, can't remember the name of the person I sold it to (early 2000) but he was a well known club member I believe.

Would like to know what happened to the car (I know it was heavily restored by the guy that bought it) and if it is still with the same owner.

On the lookout for another early Z, even if I have to import from UK, so if you are thinking of selling, please drop me a line

Any info on my old car would be appreciated.

Cheers
Lee

Photographed at Modified Live, Snetterton last year - my current with my first!
Now with Rob Smith in Oxfordshire - as you say, nicely restored...

Hello,

I thought we were busy trying to import all the Aus cars to the UK as they're in better nick, why'd you want one of our rusty ones? :)

Welcome back though, in the blood for life :)

That's the problem, all the good cars are being exported, just want to try and get one back, exchange rate also good for us at the moment, so lessens the impact of import duties and shipping charges.

Think you will find it easier to get a good early example in Australia than in the UK.

OR, there is always Japan!

I am looking at all the normal places / sites for a good Z, does anyone have any contacts in Japan that I could register my interest with?

Would also have a genuine interest in purchasing a Samuri (in the unlikely event that one should come up again in the not too distant future)

Any assistance / leads would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Make your own Samuri ! Who, over there could tell it from another - it'd be unique and as copy is the kindest flattery.....................

Hi Lee, reference DPN 529K, as Mike said it is still owned by Rob Smith, my father, and yes when we brought it from you we carried out a minor restoration but nothing too drastic really, he still enjoys the car and continues to improve it when he can.

Hi Richard
long time no see
how are you and your dad and mum
are any of you coming to Z010 at billing in a couple of weeks

Hi Steve, thanks for asking were all fine, folks may be coming to Billing, but unfortunately myself and the wife can't as, due to volcanic eruptions, we're on a delayed holiday in Mexico.

Thanks for the suggestion Sean but a fake Samuri is like fake boobs, nice to look at but you know it's not the real thing:) besides, I'm in no hurry, so may as well wait and see if I can get the real deal.

Nice to see he still has it, I think it started life with a cream interior and your dad was intending to change it back, anyway good to see it still looking great.

Frankly I don't like the look of the real Samuris' colours. I mean build one to the modern equivalent of a Samuri - Zs are about driving, not pretty decoration !

Virtually non of the Samuri's left are the real deal its just a name people put to a Z fitted with triples all too often, so I would agree with Sean build a car to your own spec & taste.

Ooh - I didn't expect that.

Start with a clean shell of course - I wonder what many of those genuine Sams. that do remain hise underneath.................!

And keep the L-gata - the soul of the car - all this swapping out for all the right reasons of the cars' owners is 'wrong'.
