Not a bad solution if you've got a non-UK head unit that doesn't tune into our radio frequencies too.

I have a blank canvas and would like the path of least resistance . Just good quality and connects to phone etc . Well and is correct Size . I do have one in it . But I need the phone as I’m sneaking out in it in the work time .

Have you considered Retrosound? I haven’t looked at it for a while now but I think someone also does a more original looking face plate to go with it.

I have a Retrosound unit in my Citroen DS. The radio face plate was made (not by me) to look original. Works really well but I'd also say it probably has too many features that I'd never use. As such there are so many functions that you may inadvertently choose by twisting a knob one way instead of the other, then it's remembering which knob to turn etc..

I have since become a sucker for originality, and I have found a radio that was original to the vehicle which I am having converted to a simpler Bluetooth system.

I’ve seen dedicated Bluetooth amp units that are small enough to be discretely fitted out of view but powerful enough to drive multiple speakers. I’ve been considering such a setup for my project Z as I likely will be having an extra gauge cluster in the original radio location for AFR gauge, etc. I’ll try and find the link for the specific one I had in mind.

That's a really cool solution, my car has never had a radio and i don't intend to fit one, a wireless Bluetooth speaker normally suffices on the few occasions i wanted sounds.

The disadvantage of this system, unless I've missed something, is that you'll be fumbling for your phone to lower the volume all the time.

In my Z I've got this :

Fosi Audio ZK-1002 Bluetooth 5.0 Stereo Audio Receiver Amplifier Board 2.0CH Mini Wireless High Power Digital AUX Amp for Home Passive Speakers 100W x 2 without power supply https://amzn.eu/d/8kT5JwC

It's currently unavailable but similar units are. It was very easy to wire and sounds is OK. I have it mounted so the volume knob is easily accessible and also serves as power on/off.
