Offset frustrations

This is a view of an 17x9.5J RKR with an offset of -19 and 275/35 R17 tyres.

If you run an 8" wheel with -19 offset, it will be 19mm further in.
My gold 280Z has 15x9 et -15 RKRs all round and needs a 5mm spacer on each.
If you are fitting flares, why not maximize your wheel and tyre size, especially in the rear given your engine choice?
Can't believe it your car is the same look as mine . lush it is indeed.

I'm wanting to keep a square setup with the tyres to keep balanced handling as the 240z is near enough 50/50 weight distribution. I think 235 tyres all around will be plenty for the 300hp ish I'll be running. I'm leaving the rb fairly standard power wise. For now.

I am tempted to go to 15x8 wheels as there seems to be a slightly better choice of tyres. The wheels come in a maximum of et -20 so I'm tempted to have that on all 4 corners. If its out slightly I should be able to adjust with the LCAs.

Thanks for your info. Just been digging through your rb26 build. How you getting on with it?

Hi great thread I asked the same question ages ago and got lost in the answers. I did listen and was misinformed about the off set. Mine are 15x8 ET20 and I have the Toyota 4 pot callipers on the front I had to use 25mm spacers all round to clear the strut from the tire. I have 225s 60 on the rear 215 60 on the front and looks great. I did buy the bolt on spacers which where a good fit in the rear but had to Dremel the front hub to get the spacer over. It is a mind field to get your fit correct. I know some people only had to use 5mm spacers but don't know how. Good luck. Eddie

Cheers for the info.

One thing I've definitely overlooked is I'm using different rear hubs from a 300zx and using all the apex gear front and rear. This us going to maje a huge difference for me. I think I'm stuck until I get the shell back and the suspension all built up. Then I'll dig a ruler out and do some measuring. Thanks for everyone's help.
