Fourways - right ?

What's the spec on her, underneath, brakes and engine ?

Hope the weather'll be kind when she leaves the workshop !

Sean,

Yes Fourways!

The whole car has had a ground up restoration - New floors, rear quarters, rear panels, roof, sills etc - The car was very sound as it had been in the garage in bits for the last 13 years! – But I thought that as I was not planning to sell the car (My father owned it from new) I would get the chassis and bodywork restored as good as it could be.

As for the engine - It has been rebuilt just to standard spec but was toying with the idea of a supercharger for it. I know a turbo would give more HP but I like the way a blower gives a nicer curve on the HP increase. Brakes are standard at the moment as I thought it more important to get the ground work right to start with and then we can play around with the upgrades at a latter date (and also give the bank balance a chance to recover )

I have about 50 or so pictures since it was started - I will have to get them on a website with the story when it is finished.

Cheers

Keep her in the family. Nice idea you romantic !
I always fancied a supercharger but one that one could switch in as per Mad Max. Realistically, the noise put me off but I guess modern ones have evolved - Jags, TVRs, Mercs...
It's perhaps almost cheaper (and a proven package) to have a serious engine sorted but upgrade the brakes and suspension first !
Look forward to seeing you and the car this summer.

Wow, looks great even without the bonnet and grill!

Are they doing the interior or are you?? It will be fun to do the inside by yourself if possible and watch the last finishing touches take shape.

Hope you have her home soon.

George.

George,

They are putting the interior in for me, but I have managed to get hold of a load of parts from the USA. The old interior was a bit past its sell by date (apart from the dashboard&#33 - So it was time for new diamond vinyl, new door panels, new carpet, nearly new seats! new shift boot, handbrake boot etc.

Ouch - just looked at the bank balance again!!!

The one last thing that I have to get for the car is a new set of rear lights.

Obviously I will have many enjoyable weekends in doing the final touches! (Must get the swear box out again) I have just seen the car yesterday and it is almost there! - time for the MOT! - I wonder if they will find any rust

I will just have to put up with the Ferrari for the weekend driver until then!

Ah!!!! Get the swear box out! Did you say new rear lights??? STOP! Don't swear and allow the bank balance to recover as new in the box ones are not cheap!!

Good to hear as much attention is being spent on the interior as has been on the exterior. Don't worry about the MOT centre finding RUST as red paint covers it well.

Well I hope the ferrari doesnt get too jealous when the Z's home, that's if you havent already gone Rosso Corsa on the Z and then it definately will!

Look forward to seeing more pics as well as you and the beast at billing.

Faaaar-out - my car's been off the road getting restored for 4 years.....

I've never got enough time or money to finish it

The countdown has begun!

Literally days away from driving her home!

On Friday, I sat in her for the first time in 13 years - and all the memories flooded back!

Heres the latest pic - she is a little dusty!

Will get the rest of the picture from start to finish up on a website soon!

You might find an MoT a little tricky with those racing slicks on.

Opps!

Forgot to say that I had to touch the rubber up as it was letting everthing else down!! - but that was it - nothing else!
