Just noticed the holes in your bulkhead...are they to allow the hot air to flow into the wiper area and out of the vents? I thought about doing that, wasn't sure if cold air would be pushed in or hot air sucked out.
Try some water wetter in the rad, it made a lot of difference to my cooling.

Thanks for the link re A/R, simple answer is I'm don't know, the exhaust blades have been 'tuned' by BTN after taking details from me of my setup/use of the motor.

Yes I'm running 3 http://www.magneti-marelli.com/motorsportsignition.html BAE801 coil units, ECU base map already set by Emerald, crank trigger is a GM (siemens) one with the crank pully recently made as one from a billet by local engineering shop http://www.billcar.co.uk/billcar.co.uk/ind2.htm.

The holes were an attempt to encourage air flow with the original setup, I Also have 2 small (Metro) bonnets vents fitted, you may see these in my gallery, again to encourage air flow, all seemed to work well.

Time to crack on

Cheers

Nigel

Spaghetti Junction's moved!!

Hi Folks

Well it’s not quite true but when you’ve spent as long stuck up the back of my dash putting the wires in it really does look like spaghetti after a while:D:D.

Piccys show the new junction/relay box I’ve installed in the passenger foot well; everything including the injector dropping resistors is housed in or on this box, second one has the lid fitted.

The Emerald ECU is mounted in the glove box, and today it finally spoke to my laptop:thumbs:.

Still some work to do before I get to fire it up but I now see light at the other end of this years very long Z’ed-less year/tunnel:).

More soon

Dave is still a collecting long list of goodies!
Then it will be over to me to build the motor. He has just arranged a HKS triple plate clutch and flywheel setup, we are picking it up on Saturday.
No doubt piccies will be on very soon
Mark.

In the new year, I must get round to sorting my charging problem, fixing blowing manifold to head(Again) and fitting speedo sensor/ Apexi AVC-R boost controller. Oh yes, and alloy radiator too!!!

If a mechanic can't sort his Z out what chance have we got?:(

I am a vehicle technician actually, Alan!
I might get round to doing my own car, if I wasn't building so many other people's engines.
I don't have a car that runs on anything as simple as triple carbs. I wish, sometimes!
Anyway, just been into Middlehurst Nissan. MD Andy Middlehurst was sounding me out for a job in his race shop, working on the new Nissan GT-R when it lands. Shall have to see what kind of a deal he offers me!!!

Wishing everyone a happy New Year!
Mark.

Simon,
I have a one off stainless manifold for the twin turbo setup. It has some distortion from end to end, and even with ARP manifold studs it still manages to blow within 100 miles!
I am going to cut flanges and modify, plus get a special manifold to head gasket made by Ferriday engineering for approx £70. Hope that does the trick!
Mark.

Isn't a vehicle technician THE new name for a mechanic or is it someone who just plugs a computer in & presses the right buttons in which case I can understand you not wanting to get your hands dirty on your own car.

Alan,
You are a bad man!
I have been a vehicle technician since I qualified back in 1983. It was a higher grade certificate than a std grease monkey in those days.
Come and have a fix of my car if you think you're hard enough mate!(Or does the technology scare you?)

In other words a glorified mechanic.
