L** oil pumps

Just been looking around at oil pump options and as some will know, I like to think out of the box a little. I've seen mention of the LD28 oil pump having the same size internals as the "comp" pump. Does anyone have any info on this? or shall I just take the common option of fitting a turbo pump? With regard to the turbo pump, I assume it was a higher volume to account for the extra oil that passed through the turbo bearing. When you fit this to a non turbo engine would you then have too much flow/pressure? or is there on such thing as too much?

Good thread on L6 oil pumps here:

I have a turbo oil pump, as you'll see from the end of that thread :)
I don't think you can have too much flow. you won't have too much pressure since there's a pressure limit.
I do suspect that the extra load from the extra capacity might have been involved in my oil/dizzy drive gear fail last year, so I'd recommend the bronze drive gear to go with the pump.

John, you've got an LD28 right? can you measure the rotor in your oil pump? I'd be interested to know.
The stock petrol L6 pump rotor is 35mm tall, the turbo rotor is 40mm tall. what is the LD28 rotor?

I’ve always imagined the kameari pump to be the same as the turbo pump. Anyone know different?
