Kobe seiko wheels

tch, tch - have another coffee or Red Bull  :

1978 260Z in restoration fitted with 3.2L Rebello Racing engine, incorporating a Rusch Motorsport cylinder head.

3.2 ?

So not a 365hp 2.4 na 240z with orrid "WORKS" alloy wheels :p

Oh The Count will be along soon to give you a smackie-bottie  !
I did think of that as I was typing it. I don't mind though as knowledge is power!

So the 'R' was refering to a GT jobbie then? Wasn't that the 2 litre from the Skyline too (ducks under a table...)?

a bit moody for my liking......

"Moody"?

Where I come from, 'moody' means a bit dodgy. Don't know what it means in your local vernacular, but there's nothing 'moody' about these wheels at all. Quite the opposite, in fact.

I'm just a bit bored with Z rallye replicas - they had better successes on the circuits !

Sean, you might well be sick of rallye replicas - but when was the last time you saw a real Works rally car in the metal ( and plastic )? They are sublime......

And anyway, did you realise that the very first S30-series Z to hit the track ( actually a Works 432R ) was wearing 7j Kobe Seiko rally mags......?

And more successful on the track than in rallying? I wouldn't sniff at two East African Safari Rally wins ( '71 and '73 ) and a third and fifth on the Monte ( against FWD and rear-engine RWD opposition with an inherent advantage ) - along with a few wins in other nationals and internationals, in period.

Of course, the very first S30-series Z to actually win anything was a 432R on the track in Japan, but we don't hear too much about that over all the white noise, do we?

If anything, it's the BRE replicas that are a little bit over-exposed I'd say........

Oh stop it my Count - you're getting almost as bad as me !

I resepct the rallye cars and especially those exceptional replicas but I prefer track cars - personal choice. I don't belittle the rallye wins and participations but I want to know more of the non-US race entries but stories merely seep out of Japan...........great shame !

The Zs' competition home is on a track and there, they are still capable of winning today in historic races. The challenge is to make a race car and make it competitive - when was the last time you saw a GrpIV outside of Japan ?

My Count, and others.

"The Zs' competition home is on a track."

Yes, I know it is a great rallye car BUT (imho) only on certain 'turfs' - dry, open roads and not on twisty, wet, snow-filled tracks which call for lighter and more nimble cars, especially suited for FW and 4WD !

There are a reasonable number of rallye cars performaing in Europe and Africa but aside from Stefan in Copenhagen and the HSCCs and the odd Miroux outing, no-one is talking the fight to the 'competition' on the tracks.

I want to see more Zs on the competition circuits... and being competitive !

With a 'mere' road 365hp ?;)

mere? froggys gone mad i think.......

if he likes them, which i do also, does it matter what '' grade '' of car there on? whether road or rally its up to the owner and if he thinks they look good and in his case beneficial...........then why bloody not old bean?

sean, you have steam coming out of your arse end, and im not on about your z either.better get that seen to asap!!:lol::smash:

Mark - you're missing the point which is alright.

I agree with you - their his choice, his car -and that's fine of course.

Hmmm, perhaps but I actually want to watch them physically as I used to follow the HSCC. Not many in France.............
