Picked this up on ebay last week and it arrived today. 60 pages worth and I can't read a word! :D

Some nice pics though... This shows the position of the mirrors on the wings. Note the rubber stops on the inside edge of the wings, they line up perfectly, so I now have a proper reference point for positioning mine.

That's not actually a 'Service Manual'. It is in fact one of the Nissan 'Service Shuho' booklets that were issued in-house to Japanese Nissan dealers to update them on full model changes and incremental updates. The full Factory workshop manual is much larger and more comprehensive, and was designed for use by independents and private owners

There were 11 of them for the S30-series Z which preceded your #411 (notice yours is 'Z-12' - the very first issued for the S130-series). Quite hard to put a full set together, not to mention expensive....

Is the L20E a carbon copy visuellement from the outside as an L28E under the bonnet (save for the steering on the potentially other side)?

Thanks for the info, makes sense now as it is only a fairly thin booklet. I hadn't seen one of these before and it looked interesting. Are these fairly uncommon?

Yes, they have always been quite hard to find in Japan. I used to scour specialist literature dealers and secondhand bookshops in Japan for them. These days - with the popularity of Yahoo Japan auctions - it's a little bit easier, but they can be quite pricy.

Most dealers used to have stacks of them for all the different models, but would chuck them in the skip after a few years.

Good find!

Sorry Sean, are you referring specifically to the S130-series?

Ped's Z-12 Service Shuho should cover both L20E and L28E-equipped early Japanese market S130 models, I think?

Here is the ebay trader I bought it from routejp. Delivery was prompt and yes it was a bit pricey £15 plus £10 p+p. I was the only bidder. Looks like he has lots of JDM brochures etc. have a look at his store.
