Importing a CZ32

Hi,

need to get myself a

BLACK

SWB

SLICKTOP

1993+

< 60K MILES

MANUAL (pref)

(those are the only requirements) Z32 TT before July 10th. This means I can go to the hillclimb and the 30th birthday in a Z :)

Now I'm looking at the auction websites for CZ32s. Is there any way to tell if they are a slicktop or not? I obviously can't read Japanese and some of the photos you can't really be sure (especially on black cars).

If anyone spots a clean one already in this country let me know please.

Cheers

Hi Russ,

Good luck with that!

If I was you my first port of call would be a guy called Lee ("Import-ance" over on the 300zx forum) to see what he can do for you.

Also, you seem to be very specific about the colour and the year of manufacture but are you not worried about the transmission? or mileage?

I have a CZ32 but it is not a slicktop. I THINK that the slicktop had a different prefix but I am not sure.

I don't need luck, a miracle would be better please :) I've been meaning to do this for about three years and suddenly I have a rush on, d'oh. Thanks for the info. I am thinking of using this guy

http://f-s-auto.com/

Who has been recommended to me. Try to cut out another person in the Z32 supply chain and maybe save some money?

Both good points, yeh I want max 60k MILES, and manwell, although if the car was very well priced or there was something special about it I would take an auto with the view to changing it.

I *think* they are all CZ32s (C being turbo, H being tent roof, G being lwb). I didn't realise they came in autos though :)

Time is against me, guessing at 5 weeks from paying to get it here? That leaves me 3 weeks to buy lol.

Can someone get me Import-ance's e-mail addy please? I'm not paying for 300zx.co.uk just to get his e-mail :)

Thank ye

Have a look at this on Ebay Russ.
300zx FairladyZ32 Manual Twin Turbo 'Slicktop'
Rarest of the breed, proven 400BHP with print out Item number: 150122829997

Thanks for the link guys.

Wrong colour :) And all the extra bits on it aren't worth anything to me as I don't like them. Also it could have done one hundred trillion miles for all I know. Tis a pretty car, just not for me. I'd then have to spend £200 removing the table on the rear hatch for a start :)

I can't see me getting one in time, but I've made the mistake of not getting exactly the car I want before from being impatient.

Yep afraid there is no specific model code for the slicktop. Lee at Import-ance should be able to help, he specialises in later model Manual TT's.

Presume you want 1993> to avoid tweed, seatbelts on doors and the older aircon controls, but series 2 started mid/late 1992 which should open your choice a little wider.

Finding one in will be a struggle in 5 weeks, and importing can often take longer than that, took me nearly a year to find mine !

Hi,
There's a nice looking TT swb targa manual over on the 300zx site...
Wouldn't mind it myself!

Yeh that is nice, thanks for the heads up. We never got 2 seater Z31s in this country did we?

I think I'll give up on the July idea and just see what happens. Get a 3 series or something for the hillclimb and accept that I'll be attending another AGM in something non Z (this time a bloody old beemer lol).

And now I'm currently looking for

<£3k
Manual
TT

Any colour considered, something clean/not too molested.

Found one in Poole for £2500 with 65k, but it's an auto.

There's one just below Birmingham, £2k but 105k. I know that's a good deal but I could have 35k less miles for £500, you'd be mad not to.

Just a quick reply but 35k either way for a 15 year old car isn't really relevant. Body/general condition is much more important. Not as easily quantifiable as a mileage number but mileage is just a number, whats happened to the car over the mileage is more relevant.
