A short morning qualifying session on a cold and damp day saw Matt run a 1:42:616 only 0.86 of the pace set by Charles Barter

The conditions didn’t let up into the afternoon and had a significant influence on the race.

It wasn’t to be Matt’s day a less than perfect start saw him sitting 2nd overall on lap 2, Matt spun off, got back on track and pulled back to third, took 2nd, dropped back to third and spun off again both times at the difficult Redgate corner. Overall Matt finished 5th with Charles taking 1st.

Yes Charles did a very professional job and this is a reflection of his skill, experience and dare I say age (maturity). He really is an excellent driver.

What I would say in Matt's defence is that he is a real racer and that has to be admired, he drove really quickly today and just overstepped the mark but so did many other good drivers in these difficult conditions. Unfortunately for Matt to be satisfied with his day's racing he has to beat Charles which is a tall order and once again nobody else got anywhere near! This is going to be a great battle.

Paul Stafford qualified very well (8 out of 29) but he too did a bit of grass-tracking at Redgate (pushed wide) and had to fight back up the field.

Our 'lads' put on a great show and just like the rally teams on the Robin Hood rally they continue to show what a 240Z can do in good hands.
