How low can a road car go?

Does anybody know if the council have a maximum size which they have to use when building speed bumps, or a generally excepted ride height which road cars should not go below without being to low to get over bumps/kerbs etc.
I like the height my car is at, but I worry I'll end up beached on the first speed bump as it's so low.

I'm not sure whether there is any max/min height, but in Liverpool they had to spend over a million pounds lowering theirs after a hearse wedged itself on one !!

There is probably a guidline spec, but that would generally go out the window as you can see they are built all sorts of sizes.

How low is your car at the front? My bro has a very low Polo, and it was a nightmare and not worth the agro because even if the splitter made it over the exhaust would catch instead :)

Thanks for the link Steve, The car went onto axle stands this afternoon so will have to wait to measure the actual car height. It looks like the front of the car will clear a hump ok I'm just worried about being beached on it and I have to get past 2 before I hit the main road from the garage!!. I'll get some measurement once the car is down and let you know.

If you have not changed the ride height from my settings then the car will almost certainly beach. I always avoided speed humps like the plague!!!! Never mind all you need to do is wind up those spring platforms, remembering to measure the ride height first and check the geometry.
Does moving the car mean its nearly MOT time???

Thanks Ken, suspension is still as you set it but was hoping to get to a specialist and get them to setup correctly. Guess I will need to raise the height before that as I can't even get it down the road.
Still lots to do but could be ready for MOT soon.
