holiday brake woes

took my LHD 280z over to Europe for a bit of motoring on the right side of the road (& with the aim of posting many pictures of the car in exotic locations for the forum)... no sooner had I got off the ferry in Bilbao but the brake pedal felt very spongey, can push it down almost all the way with no resistance until the very end.

Fortunately the car still stops (although rather more, ahem, gracefully than before) and managed to get it over the French border to where we're staying. Took it to a local garage to bleed the system & showed them the FSM page with the reaction disk highlighted in the hope it might be that, but after having the car for a few days they've decided its the master cylinder. Which, eh bien oh la la, they don't want anything to do with.

So...does anyone have any good ideas where to find a replacement master in France and any recommendations for a garage in the biarritz area that might do the job?
