Hi - Z novice just introducing meself!

HOUSEQUAKE

Well-Known Forum User
On Saturday I fulfilled an ambition I have had since being a nipper and became an owner of a Datsun Z (previously Ross Hamilton's), it is the car I have wanted for as long as can remember.

So I'm just posting to say hello to you all and big thanks to moggy240, who has been my Z guide for the past 18 months helping me track down a Z.

You can expect to read a lot of questions from me as I have a lot to ask so always a man of my word.....

  • What flavour oil is preferable and how much of it?
  • Is there a particular type/brand of spark plug best suited?
  • Who is the best supplier to get bits like door seals and rubber bungs, gromets etc from?
  • Will I ever stop grinning?
:) :) :)

Congratulations, i felt the same way when I purchase my first Z - and i still have the grin! So to answer your last question, NO - you won't stop grinning :D :D

Post some pictures and what are the specs?

what oil is prefered ,myself i use castrol
spark plugs must be NGK (bpr6es) i normally but three packs of at a time which does get some odd looks from the checkout unless you can buy them individually.
Mike Feeny is the technical advisor and also runs MJP which ia very good source of datsun and nissan parts.

Welcome

Greetings Housequake.

Welcome to the world of practical sports cars, no overpriced racing green or pampered prancing horses here :D

And I must say good choice

Just 5 things,
1. Buy lots of "go faster" goodies.
2. Go drag racing, its the cheapest and most accessible form of motorsport around -- show scooby drivers that there is life after turbo's.
3. Check your mirrors regularly, If you can't see a police helicopter -- your not going fast enough.
4. If the grin ever wears off, check your pulse.

Oh yeah number 5 -- never eat yellow snow
