Hall Effect Electronic Ignition Distributor

Quick background in that I have a 1972 LHD Californian import 240Z with a 260Z engine and gearbox. Having the engine rebuilt last summer, the suggestion was to remove the old distributor and after market electronic ignition and replace with a Hall Effect Electronic Ignition Distributor. The item researched and purchased was this Kenjutsu make from Conceptua Tuning off eBay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114603480409).

My mechanic has alerted me that there are no red/black positive/negative wires, but two blue wires with male/female spur connectors. There are no instructions included with the packaging and having spoken to Conceptua, the resuult is that "Google is your friend".

Having spent some time on Google last night, there is a US expired patent for the product:

https://patents.google.com/patent/US3875920A

that may help?

I've said to the mechanic that I would reach out to this forum to see if anyone has used/installed such a electronic distributor from Conceptua Tuning and perhaps point us in the right direction for installation. The problem is that the loom has been hacked from previous upgrades.

Any ideas would be welcome.

At that price, send it back for a refund and get the 123 ignition instead.
It looks like they are 'refurbishing' stock distributors and adding something like the pertronix igniter and a large mark up.
The 123 distributor is better in many ways.

Isn’t that a stock refurbished 280z distributor which uses a separate ign control unit ?
some distributors have them screwed to the side of the distributor and some a separate control
unit .

So if it is a 280z dizzy, they have mis-sold the unit as it quite clearly says 260z and no mention of needing a module to make it work - something a 260z never had or would have.

Send it back & get a 123 unit!
