Which companies and do you mean buying from or through them or the shipping companies ?
Hopefully buying a vehicle from Australia and need to send payment.
I could just do a bank transfer but there are some online companies claiming to save you
Money on exchange rate

I used Transferwise (now just called Wise I think) when I arranged the diff filler socket group buy. Very easy and a decent rate compared to the options at the time.

OFX is better for car, larger sums once verified. Purchase 5 cars using them from Japan/USA

Just to second the comments about Wise (formerly TransferWise). I've used them for several years for currency transfer and they are excellent, both in the rate you get, charges applied and service.
