gearbox/propshaft trouble

when i am driving my car 1st and 2nd gear are fine buy when i go into 3rd and get past 4000 rev's the car starts to vibrate and get worse the faster i go and then when i put it in 4th it is fine ????
is it gearbox or propshaft ????
 
You mention that the vibration comes on at about 4000 in 3rd --- whats it like at 4000 in all of the other gears, reason for asking is that if you are at 4000 in 3rd and then change up, the RPM will drop significantly due to the ratios in the box (thats what a gearbox does) does the vibration come back at 4000 in 4th or does it go away all together, never to return until you get back into 3rd again.
 
all the other gears are ok at 4000 rev's,i was doing 125 mph in 4th gear which was about 6000 rpm and the car was fine.it is only a 4 speed aswell.
