to cut a long story short.
small (but crucial) parcel from japan landed in early may in u.k
value on shipping papers $35 usd.
parcel force send invoice for, wait for it,... 625.13 sterling!!
after phone call i was told i must 'try' to contact hmrc to resolve.
probably over five hundred attempts by phone (with a sucess rate of one answer)
two recorded letters sent to hmrc to re-evaluate and recall parcel.
two months gone by and.......
parcel still sat at parcelforce with no apparent contact or request from hmrc.

any ideas? :banghead:

Will you please share what part it is, is it NOS?

Chris

no chris.
two kameari guages (tacho meter and fuel pressure) and some used rare emblems.

i have a crate arriving this tuesday at felixstowe from japan.

i am praying that goes smoothly.

i agree duncan..
however these items are not available from the states or the usual sources, other wise mike would have been my first choice as well.

ok backtrack. available from the states but certainly not the price i paid.

but have i paid for the price i paid.......? what!!?

Look, if the parts are used and the Kameari also is some original period correct stuff for the car, you should try to claim it under the EU custom form 97.05, but first you have to look it up, it work here and i cant see why it shouldn't work it the rest of the EU.

It was due to a Dane, who sued the Danish state, pulled them to court in the EU and won.

Anyway, look it up mate and see if it's usefull for you.
