Elite Classics 20th May 2012

A friend of a friend of mine is organising a small show at the Lakeland Motor Museum on Sunday 20th of May 2012.

It's only intended to be a smallish show of around 40-50 vehicles, but he's trying to attract some different and more interesting cars rather than the usual MGB GT/Triumph crowd (no offence to anyone who has such a mundane motor :D).

He asked me if I would bring CAB and I said I was happy to and he also asked if I would to let anyone else I thought might want to come know about it, so if anyone is in the Lakes that weekend or if anyone from our part of the world wants to join me (Ray, Chef, Brian, Martinmac) you would all be welcome I am sure

I have still not been to the Motor Museum since it moved from Holker Hall to its new home, even though I pass it every day on the way to work and it will be a good chance to visit as the show entrance fee of £8.00 includes admission at a reduced rate.

There will be a self judged car of the show with a 1st prize of £150.00 too.

There are a few nice driving roads around the area too for a bit of a spin before or after the show.

I know it's a while off but I thought I would post it up now so as not to clash with other events, so if you fancy coming let me know and I can make the organisers aware.

It would be good to get a few Z's together a have a little Club stand with a few flags, etc.

Hi - I might be interested in blasting over to the lakes in my 260. Wouldn't mind seeing the museum anyway. Let me know if you would like me to attend and I'll put it into my diary (I usually work Sundays so will need to book the time out).

Hi Jonathan,
I'm still going, will check with Brian again this week & let you know if he's still going. Should be a great day out :)

I'd have popped up for this - if it wan't for the fact I'm in San Diego at the time. We don't get back until the Monday. Hope you have a good time though!

Didn't take too many pictures today, but this was a succesful little event I think. A real variety of cars and nice to see some different things out and about.

At one point today there where 4 260Z's in one place.

Second that, nice to meet up.
The weather helped nice and sunny for a change.
Away to get that starter stripped right now.
Andrew

Really enjoyed it - thanks to those who made me feel so welcome. Appreciated.

Thought the Lakeland Museum was very good - not that many cars in there, but nicely laid out and the display cabinets were filled with fascinating stuff. The Donald Campbell exhibition behind the museum was outstanding.
