Hi,
Whilst shopping around for car insurance for my daily car, I found this site called Confused.Com
If you fill in their online form they email you back within the hour with between ten and twenty insurance quotes from most of the major insurance companies! You can then take up the quote from the insurer without having to fill all your details in again.
Looks like I may have saved myself £150!

great if you have got an unmodified car as just had an email from them saying they could,t find any one to insure my car

oh well worth a try so it will be back to the phone when the time to reinsure comes and spending half hour filling in forms again

same problem here Steve. no-one wanted to know just because I've got non-standard alloys and +10% of engine mods :( oh well, at least my current insurance isn't too bad. :)

Hi,
I only tried them for our daily runabout and didn't think it was worth trying for the 300ZX, as it's considered too specialised and better to insure on a "classic" policy. If you have a family saloon car as well, it might be worth a try.

A mate of mine tried them to insure his Mitsubishi FTO. They were very expensive compared with his existing quote. We think because it is an import.

Well, in defence of confused.com, I've got my cheapest quote so far (by some margin) for the impending 350. :D

It's a good 100 quid cheaper than best I had up to that point. That's gotta be good news, surely!!! :)

Hi,
Great news! I was shopping for a quote for the new Citroen Berlingo that we're buying....Not quite as impressive as a new 350Z though!:D

I dont know if any one has tryed elephant .co.uk, they saved me over £500 on my 300 and believe it or not the best part of £1000 on my preveous car. i told a mate who had just imported an RX7 type RS, they saved him over £700 compared to tescos. cant tell you what service is like as i have yet to make any sort of claim (touch wood) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, at the end of an exhaustive search; confused.com still comes out on top, narrowly beating Elelphant into second place by a tenner or so.

I could have got it even cheaper if I omitted Mrs John Boy (on account of her lead boots ;)) .. but I need all the home solidarity I can muster for my extravagant purchase, if you know what I mean!:)

Anyway, as the interactive tv ad. says: "Hit blue now, ask for forgiveness later" .. I'm very sorry Mr Lloyds! :D

Hi,
I tried Elephant for my 300ZX but they were about £95 more expensive than Confused.
I'm still better off insuring the 300ZX on a classic limited mileage policy though.Should save a further £150 or so, that way.

Hey Jez,

Well, just to finish of the saga, it did prove to be Elephant who offered the best deal in the end, since the quote from confused didn't include legal cover that made it about 15 quid dearer.

Be interested to see what the customer service proves to be like from Elephant, although I have found that the service generally that I've had has been better from the biggies. The exception being Houghton, who, if I still had a 300, I'd go with any day of the week!

Insurance due to run from Wednesday ... :D:D:D ... hmm, I wonder what else is happening on that day? ;)
