Clutch Master push rod

Does anyone know if this is removable, I've got an annoying knock/hit sound when I press the clutch, it doesn't happen all time, when it does I can see it is the push rod slightly moving/re seating under pressure, guess it must be snagging or thought there may have been a rubber boot or something on the end that has since warn away; figured I could replace this somehow rather than the whole unit.

Any ideas?

If I remember correctly the rod is retained behind a washer which in turn is retained by an internal circlip - unit will have to be removed from the car to dismantle.

Sounds like you need a new one anyway. They aren't that expensive.
