Clutch biting point adjustment... Can You?

My biting point is pretty low, always has been, which im assuming is normal
Unless the clutch is worn, but then when the gearbox was swapped years back, they should of pointed that out!
Anyway it bites well and there is no slip or crunching of gears.

Trouble is, now im using the car regularly, ideally i would like to have the seat a notch or two further back.
But then i cant get the clutch pedal low enough to disengage properly.

I know its possible to adjust the plunger rod on the master cylinder, but according to the manual,
that appears to be mainly for setting the pedal in the right place/height and not the actual biting point.
Or am i missing something!!

I'd like to raise the biting point by 3/4 to 1 inch if possible

I hadnt really noticed it this much before, but i recently renewed the gearstick bushes and now
the clutch needing to be almost to the floor, is now far more noticeable.
As im attempting to change gear smoother and quicker, i need to keep leg pressure on the pedal, so its nearer the release point for a better gear change!
But fighting against the pedal return spring all the time is tiring :driving:
