Carb to airbox gasket

Hi all just putting my car back together after respray and re mounting the airbox. Does any one know if the gaskets between the Hitachi round top carbs and the airbox are the same as SU 1.3/4 in ones. I only need one as had a new one in my box of spares.

No, the SU carbs are a slightly different shape on the airbox side. Having said that, if they are only a couple of quid on ebay it might be worth giving them a try. Failing that, make your own using gasket material that you should be able to get from your local car shop or Halfords etc.

I made my own using cork gasket sheets but recently I bought some as a test for the trumpets I’m experimenting with and 1.75” ones fit perfectly.

Thanks i have made some out of gasket paper but will buy the 1.75 ones too
