burst brake line

My car's brake lines which travel under the car have burst.

Are they easy enough to change?
Do I have to replace the WHOLE lenght of the pipe or shall I replace the part which is erroded?

Has anyone ever done this and can give some tips?

Stuart.

It's best to check the condition of the rest of the pipes first before committing to replacing them all.

If you can get away with it, it's much easier to replace one piece than the lot of it.

Also, is it a metal pipe or a rubber one?

not done this on a z32 but I seem to recall there is a problem where the pipe passes between the underside and the rear subframe. Apparently it's possible to do it with the subframe in situ but very tricky. The easiest way is to drop the rear subframe but this is a pig. Some peeps have re-routed the pipe. Maybe someone will know better?

Much easier to make your own from some copper piping and some unions.

that's how I sorted my U11 bluebird as it's an import and couldn't get pattern parts.

The pipe has split just infront of the rear wheel just as it goes to up over the sub frame, and I then believe then it goes to the actual brake capliper. I have about 10 ft of solid brake line, which i have been told is new stuff and better than stock as it wont go rusty.
I think I will re route the line from the drivers rear to passenger rear.

i need a new frame :(
