Battery Req.

Re Battery Req

My Exide is as original as you'll get without going to Japan! (everything is facing the right way)

How about a Varley "red top 30"

-- 1/2 of the weight (9kg), doesnt leak, has a cranking current way higher than a conventional battery and mounts in a box (carbon fibre of course) in the spare wheel well so that it improves the centre of gravity and helps traction just that little bit;) --- or is that just to easy:D

Sounds like there's no simple off the shelf battery. Pity, it's very tight with the live terminal under the wing. l'll see what my local motor factors has to offer.

Adrian - thanks for the tip, sounds obvious now you mention it and rings a bell from my distant past.

Got a 068 Koba Battery in the end - fits in the tray, right height, terminals right way around. Seems ok.

Mine has a light aircraft battery!!! Previous owner (Ross Hamilton) works with aircraft parts and thought it a good idea.

It won't go flat, won't leak, is half the size/weight of a standard jobbie and seems to put out 15V constantly.

Can't be bad 'coz they have started using them in WRC cars. I'll look for a part no if anyone interested?

Hiya mate ...is this the Varley Red Top 30 Racing Battery?

....think mine is playing funny buggers...

Cheers, Si
