Just had a bath and came inside half an hour ago..

All that is left on the rear end is the moustache bar, and diff still mounted, but all bolts/nuts are loose, so easy work for tomorrow!!

My phone died so did not manage to get many pics!!

My solid diff mount is ready to mount to the diff too....
Double checked it was the correct one before I ripped the old one apart to take it off...

On another note I took some pictures of the underside to show you all how SOLID IT IS!!!

I also went at it with a hammer everywhere underneath try to identify holes but there are not any!!!

The only bad parts are the chassis rails as previously mentioned and are to be completely replaced, and a little bit on the wheel well as mentioned previously also...

I did say that it was a structurally very solid car underneath, despite hardly anyone believing it, but here is the evidence in photo's....

Thanks.....

Don,

Don't misconceive Albrecht's comments, they are factual and accurate despite him appearing to be being a gom at times but he does know his onions ;). Careful what you enter in to in relation to investment. I have a 2+2 and spent considerably more than your budget and bought the car for considerably less but yes I love the car and it goes and handles well but be bl00dy careful what you spend. I've had a terrible earworm since seeing the VRN.

Anyone remember 'The Herbs' on children's TV in the late 1960s?

I keep humming "...I'm Dill the dog, I'm a dog called Dill, though my tail I'd like to get, I've never caught it yet...."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FOfX0eePIM

Dill was a hyperactive dog who was always getting into scrapes, which provided Parsley with a rich source for his laconic comments. He was constantly chasing his tail, and a source of great annoyance to Constable Knapweed.

I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate myself on my 2000th* forum post.
Every single one Quality Control inspected by Howie Makem, The Qwality Cat (TM).

I'm here all week. Try the veal, and don't forget to tip your waitress.

*Actually it's much, much more than 2000. At least 1000+ high qwality posts by yours truly have been deemed unfit for human consumption and deleted. "Art suffers the moment other people start paying for it...".

I like Dill the dog...

I do not think the thread is a train wreck!

Look how much interest it has and how many people have contributed....

It is an interesting and rare restoration project that I promise to get finished to the best of my ability (no need to comment on my ability), and hope to have it featured in several magazines and hopefully win a few shows with it...

Would love to meet up with everyone when it is completed next year sometime. :)

Summer car show I think!

Albrecht - brilliant recall!!!! You just took me back to my childhood!

Don, keep going lad! I love the enthusiasm. But heed the advice re the financials. Look forward to seeing the car in the flesh one day.

Solid inner sills through the hole I made in the outer sill!

And Mr. Rob Gaskin Sir, you were correct about the speaker wire in the rear wing that is sticking out!!

Needs to be connected back into the speaker!! Dame colour wires as on the other side.

:)

Many thanks.

The rest is coming off...

Should get to rubbing down today! :)

Wish there was a acid dip shop nearby... Or a blast shop...

JUST FOUND OUT THAT ON RECORDS HELD BY THE NATIONAL MOTOR MUSEUM!!

My car was owned by the Chairman of the Harrow Car Club!!

Nice details and documents forwarded kindly by the membership secretary of the Harrow car club.

One step closer to finding the owner!! They are trying to gather more information for me, but he is sadly expected "dec**sed"...

:(
