Does anyone know the date that the last 280zx came off the production line

Don’t know the month but the last year of production was 1983.

Nissan Japan's official data says that the last S130-series Z rolled off the production line in August 1983, but I suspect production had started to run down significantly in the weeks before that in preparation for the switchover to S31-series tooling and start of production in September 1983.

Finger trouble (force of habit). Successor to S130-series was Z31, not S31.

How do I prove to The DVLA that my car was built in 83 & not in 84 as my registration document states.

Yes, bought New from VW Young dealership in South shields,I have also recently spoken to Vic Young who was the salesman who originally sold the car.

Does your registration document say it was built in 84, or that it was first registered in 84?
I *think* the V5 doesn't have a place for date of construction, but the DVLA system does have it, and it is used to inform the taxation class.
Are you looking to get yours changed to historic tax class?

The document as you say does not have a place for construction & as you said the DVLA site does, it quotes manufacture as 1984.
I am looking to get it changed to historic tax class.

Yeah, I hear you! When the late Mr F made me do that, I was going to cry, but then made a feature of it!

It was a bit like tree rings - I could tell how many times the engine bay had been resprayed
