At the time of construction I was thinking of having it with a half hard, half soft roof ,celica style, to preserve some of the lines. Either way you are right I doubt it would ever look right with a roof!

Yes, thats where the original idea we had to chop the roof came from, a friend of mine starting cutting up photos of my car to see the similarity.
The guys on that site (cheers for the link by the way) are using 2 seaters which I think is my first mistake, the 2+2 is maybe a little too long to look right as a daytona, however, I think it could look really good in its own right if done properly! Anyhoo, I have too many projects now and I think this one may be left to pass away. Unless anyone wants to do it, in which case I'd give it to them!

No, I'll leave the chromed family sized bean cans to the Saxo boys!. Why do you ask? Not that bloody great hole in the rear panel by any chance;)

Personally Steve, I think the 2+2 gives the car the right wheelbase for convertibles, the 2 seaters (and I'm taking for all the range now) look stubby as rag tops !

Still my dream to do an S30 convertible....on a 280Z or 260Z 2+2 !

Sean, I would agree with you with the top down, but I have yet to see a 2+2 version look right with the top up. All of the above pictures are of 2 seaters, including my favourite looking one the 'Spectra' on Steve's post. I think they strike the right compromise top up/down, however, I'm equally sure that a 2+2 IS possible to get right top up/down it just may take some experimenting and perhaps an entirely hard top roof!

So who wants it then before it meets it meets my reciprocating saw?
