280Z fuel pump position

Hi. I am new to Datsuns but have built many different makes of cars over the years. I now have a lovely 280Z and want to fit a new injection fuel pump and filters.
My question is .. the feed from the tank is half way up the tank and an injection pump needs to be gravity fed.
How does that work in a 280Z ?. I don't want to start with lift pumps/swirl pots.

The easy answer IMO is that most pumps can overcome a couple of inches of -ve head. But if you want the pump to be below the tank, then a hose and the siphon effect will happily move fuel to a pump below the tank outlet.
