I think you need to give as much information as possible and get as much publicity as you can on the relevant websites and in the mag. Also circulate regional reps, many of them publish a news letter. You just have to stick at it and keep plugging on. I started Swapmeet (now Zed Fest) in 2004 and got 12 cars. This year I need a bigger venue!

On the other hand I have asked people to tell me if they're going to Billing this month. I have received one phone call and look at the replies on the post on this forum. I know people will attend but actual replies are abysmal.

Don't be down about it just keep plugging on. 300zx are always up for a ride out.

Dear Derek,
You are right and I have no problem on plugging an event everyway I can. What does annoy me are people who say they will turn up to something then don't. Sorry, I was having a moan...................but I believe with good reason.
Whilst I did not expect there to be a huge turnout last night, maybe 5 to 10 people, I did not expect to be half of the attendance.

I have been convinced bythe 350z Forum to continue with the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Run on the 18th August. If you would like to attend please confirm by return.
Looking at starting between 9 and 10 am. I am doing a mock run soon to check on timings, lunch venue, etc etc. and will confirm a start time once this has been done. Full details of the event will be made available when we meet up on the day.

I'm still up for this one!!

Like I said in an earlier post there are two of really close to that area, and provided nothing goes horribly wrong both zeds should be there. Hell even if it does I'll have to come on my push bike!!

Hi Miniman

You sure that Chepstow isn't under water these days!
Changed name to "Atlantis" or something similar.

Wye Valley is probably now called the Wye Channel!

Am planning on being in Wales that week anyway so may pop along.
Got a postcode or full address for where you plan to meet please.

Thanks

Dear All,
Due to the chance of rain on this day, I have decided to pospone this event until Spring next year.
There is no point us all driving around in the pouring rain.
Good old British Weather.

DIZZAPPOINTED - to say the least.

Would have been my first out of area meet, and it's cried off by the long range weather forecaster! Who cares if it rains anyway! We're all used to it by now - would have thought that the chance to meet up with likeminded people outweighed the elements.

Pity the decision has been made 2 weeks early!
Any chance of changing your mind?

I'm up for it - count me as in

Drag challenge @ Santa Pod

A little bit further to travel, but you don't need to "drag" if you don't want. Just come along and enjoy the action

Drag or Drive

Hi and thanks for the Santa Pod invite but as I was already going to wales that week it was top of my agenda to go on the run in the Forest of Dean.

Should have felt the vibes earlier in the thread!

The trouble is some people were coming from a long way away and they would then have to cancel hotels if we postpoped it last minute. Also organising these events takes a lot of work, organising a pub with food, printing off maps etc etc. Believe you me, it is not as easy as it sounds.(Most pubs wanted a £250 non returnable desposit). This is not something you can cancel last minute or even a week before. Sorry all. Lets hope the weather improves in 2008.
