Interesting!

I have a 2004 350Z UK car bought in June this year, similar mileage (97k) to yours.

It drives really well, you'd never guess it had done the miles. However I do find the clutch a bit fierce for a road car. It's ok for quick and slow starts but anything in-between takes a bit of concentration to get it smooth. I've no idea if it's the original clutch but I'm surprised that you've had 3!

Great 'Grand Touring' cars. Your 22 mpg is way less than mine at 27, you are either a maniac or do a lot of town work (or both)!

Is the GT generally more thirsty than the standard car?

What is your oil consumption like, I've heard horror stories? Isn't the dipstick the most awkward to use ever!!

Hi. My new clutch feels like in a normal car. My 22mpg is a mixture of commuting and continental driving (see the last Zed club magazine on the trip to Istanbul). The GT has the same consumption as the standard car (just comes with leather seats, cruise control, heated seats and a 'premium' sound system). The oil consumption is O.K.; am using more now than in the first few tens of thousands of miles (when it needed no oil between services). The dipstick wasn't well designed, and has been improved on the 2007 model.

Excellent report! Frightening how you pay X for a car, and even a new one doubles in price using it :)

Well done on the mileage!! :D We have a few import 350z's starting to appear in NZ that are up around, 100k's (not miles). Average mileage on one in NZ is about 30k -60k, plus import one with extremely low mileage, but beaten up.

After reading about your clutch problems I have contacted the guy I bought my 04 car from. He is the only previous owner of this UK car.

He confirmed that the car is still on its original clutch at 97k miles! He didn't take it round the 'ring though and a lot of his miles would have been motorway miles.

Yes, my last OEM clutch is going strong in excess of 30,000 miles. There are several reports of failures at around the 25,000 mark, and some at below 2,000 miles (and VERY few warranty replacements). Interestingly, my last clutch is the ONLY one which I taken to the Nordschleife or any sort of driver training day. Early on, my car did virtually only motorway miles; the car was run in in a weekend.
