    sad day

there will be 1 less Kaminari on the road/in the club as of 6pm tonight. sad to say after nearly 2 years of sometimes frustrasting, sometimes hard work, due to a possible short in the wiring, my Kaminari is no more. the fire took hold in minutes & by the time i was aware of that & the time it...

    lack of acceleration.

stoopid question, does it matter how the airflow meter sits? ie at an angle or does it have to be as upright as poss/ done all the bits i set out to do today & it goes like stink on the firts run, then goes back to popping & banging once its warmed up. any ideas?

    lack of acceleration.

the pressure sensors came with the turbo-i know they work, cos we rigged them up before fitting to manifold. there is one low pressure & one high -dunno which is which, but the wiring is simple enough-even for me. fuel tank was cleaned out to weld the tea bag like state of offside of tank...

    lack of acceleration.

apart from the sticky/worn rings problem, the kaminari has now decided to sulk once in a while. from cold, it goes quite well, occasionally once its warm, you have to feather the accelerator, or you get a lot of banging & popping before it picks up. i havent got the extra fuel line plumbed...

    rebore?

dont think its the turbo, it only blows smoke on the over run, not under load, also it gets no better or worse if you play around with the boost. had new oil seals before it went into the car & it doesnt smoke on start up, only when not under load, so i'm assuming its the rings. one of my...

    rebore?

due to my 36,000 mile "good" engine smoking like a bastard on the over-run, a strip down is in order. i have it on good authority that the oil rings gum up over time(the engine has been stood in the garage for a couple of years prior to going in the kaminari) so, if the worst turns out to be...

    turbo questions

Hi guys , not been around for a while(new bike lured me away). the time has come to FINALLY get the Kaminari up & running. so, some questions, i bought a janspeed turbo & box of bits about a year ago, the turbo is on, with the nice shiney stainless link pipe. i need to source some sort of...

Oh its still alive, just resting. not a lot to do to it really, stick the turbo on, refurb the brakes, sort an exhaust, give it a final laquer coat. should be out this summer, just dont quote me:D

    Sorry guys.

A while ago i decided to stick a new -ish chevy motor in the Kaminari. i've been saving my hard earned cash for a couple of months now. some of you know i'm into bikes in a BIG way & have a ZZR11. as it "only" does about 180 mph its obviously just not fast enough. i have sold my soul & used the...

    a serious complaint

thanks for that Gav, if i had 2.5 sitting around i might be tempted. i'm more into building my own motor & keeping away from the "money pit" syndrome if i can. you know a few quid here, a grand there:rolleyes: also, ive seen over the years engines change to a total dependancy on chips, brains...

    a serious complaint

Err guys, i'm all for hybrids, but enough is enough. i love my bike & couldnt think of a worse fate than sticking two 1100 cc bike engines in a ZX. something like those caterham jobbies then ok, but in a kaminari? nooooooooooooooooooooooo! besides, you lot obviously dont ride bikes, have you...

    a serious complaint

Gentlemen, i have a serious complaint regarding the hybrid zed forum. having read all the posts in this forum, i now find myself(indeed i called MJP yesterday to discuss options) with a dire need to fit a SBC to my Kaminari. this comes directly as a result of reading the excellent threads in...
