Thoughts on this rad

I'm looking to replace my leaking rad. Saw this on eBay and it looks good but the stated depth is 150mm which is 6 inches. Much deeper than standard unless that includes the fans. Assuming it does what do you guys think?

The bottom outlet is one piece rather than the cheaper welded ones on eBay.

mine's 85mm deep. 150mm is just about touching the water pump. I expect they've got the measurements wrong.

Since it comes with the fans I reckon it includes them in the 150mm, measured my rad and fans and it's about that.

I've also got a 70° thermostat & water wetter. Definitely not going to overheat!

Just check on height of the rad. Is your 260 an early one?

It's a 76. I'll do an accurate measuring before I order anything.

Looks very similar to the one I fitted to my 240 today. I suspect they are all made by the same people. Mine is the 4 core one though. 150mm is the overall thickness so includes the fans.

I asked because I've bought a rad from a serious 'hot climate' rally car and it doesn't have a header tank but is configured for an expansion tank. With an expansion tank you can use more water in a rad.

yeah, just unusual design to have an s30 chassis? it'd have to sit quite high to be the highest point?

Run the overflow to an expansion tank and it should be fine. Much like moderns.
