I've bought a Honda Jazz blower off ebay for £8.40 incl postage! Not worth risking anymore atm.
Will see how I go with it.
Will be interesting. The older Civic units are seemingly impossible to find online from a UK source. The advantage they have is they are a direct bolt-in due to their physical design being almost identical to the Nissan ones (assume same 3rd party manufacturer). The Jazz ones do seemingly have the same three bolt mounting design though - depends on if they are the right size and spacing.
Ah, good work! Look forward to hearing the results. The spacing is the same at 140mm I asked a seller.

Comical side note - when I stripped Project Dixie down, and disassembled the blower unit to restore, I thought I'd test the motor to see if it was still worth not binning. So I attached a couple of wires to the contacts and, as you do, touched those to the terminals on my red Z's battery... cue a large ZAP!!!, a shower of sparks, and a blower fan spinning so fast in my hands it nearly took off for the rafters! Seems to work nicely still...
You think you had a problem - I watched a youtube video last night of Guy Martin running a Merlin engine on a trailer. He said when he first ran it in a workshop it tried to escape!
The Kia might be worth a try. The Jazz motor is too deep. I can sort it but a bit of a PITA. Shearing two bolts is also a PITA. Wish I hadn't read the Thread. I had to take my whole blower unit out. What was useful was discovering badly adjusted flap cable and no seal to bulkhead. Both worth checking to improve efficiency of blower.hi all just a quick update .done some looking on the web and in the US they reccomend fitting a kia unit .good news is that its a direct fit only need trimming a little , shed loads on ebay take a look chris
