No 260z 2 seater the 280zx been done about three years ago still wins prizes at shows :D

I am guessing it is probably a spare shell for someone..

Why else would they not be selling the doors/panels .etc... ??

Huh? Even the ad says it needs a complete front end. It means everything in front of the firewall is u/s. Look at the roof, gutters and header rails - it's perforated and paper thin. Dentelle! If your car's bodyshell gets blasted that's what it's going to look like.

I'm starting to understand what your problem is. You just can't see the extent of the corrosion, let alone comprehend that it's more than a few little holes here and there.
 
It is amazing that you can tell that much from a photo without having seen the car...

NASA should be employing you to replace one of their telescopes up in space!!

It is just amazing that your eyesight is THAT GOOD!!!!

Even if you take the very very best shell from a 'dry state', strip and blast it you'll find thin bits of metal and a few holes. I'm sure you're only aware of what you'll find when it's had the same process applied?

It's amazing that you can't see what is so clearly evident from the photos, but what's more surprising is that don't seem to have the imagination to understand what the back story might be to such a sale. Seller is not hiding anything, and is making it clear what he's selling and what else he has.

It's not rocket science. It's clearly an abandoned restoration. Bodyshell too far gone to be an economical repair, owner bailing out before it's too late. Probably a very sensible decision. A car with that kind of corrosion is only worth saving if it's historically important or very high value, and even then you'd probably not want to be paying full professional rates for the work to be done.

It's a lesson you'd be wise to pay attention to, but of course you don't have the wit or the wisdom to take heed.

I noted he was selling a new roof too, and that the floor had already been done... so to recap what it was like when he started: Front wings - shot, floors - shot, front end - shot, roof - shot, front screen surround - nasty and "needs a wheel arch".

I wonder what the boot floor was like, inner wings anyone? etc... When you compare it to a dry State example there is probably x10 as much bodywork involved. As you say though he was not trying to hide anything.

No, I think he's just 'styling it out'. Like he knows what he's doing.

He doesn't. There will be quite a lot less "lmfao", "Rofl" and "Looool" when (or if) the car gets properly stripped and blasted, and when (or if) the welding starts.
