What did you do to your Z this week?

Mine passed it's MOT today. It's been off the road for 11 years (1 of those under my ownership) but now the road is our oyster!

Next stop - taking the car to some body shops to get quotes for a little bodywork and a respray :)

Congrats. What was the cause of the rear toe-in issue?

New clutch and flywheel a set of new rear tyres and had the Watanabe wheel redone loosing the polished rim.

Thanks :) That's a very good question... I haven't got to the bottom of it yet, but it the car passed regardless.

I've a list of things that need attention and this is very near the top!

Wow, surprised they didn't notice it. Surely it steers from the back?

Congrats Paul.

Mine has spent the day in a garage in Salford having a new hard brake line made and fitted after an exciting moment on the M6 on sunday.

Ooh do tell JB! Sounds like a heart in mouth moment!

It's not great! I didn't want to ask if it was a failure in itself. I haven't read the MOT rules but it might have helped that it has brand new tyres and so wouldn't have shown signs of uneven wear.

I was hoping something might settle now it's done a few miles - of course it hasn't...

Does it drive straight Paul?

Not much to tell - all the cars in front of me hit the brakes and I had none. Luckily the lane to the left was still moving and the poor bloke I pulled in front of managed to slow in time.
I had overtightened the hardline in the past and the flared end had been effectively cut off, so not much of a seal. Quite a lesson to be very careful with the brakes.

Thank goodness it passed without incident JB! [emoji106]

I really like the look of your car Dave and I do prefer wheels with out the polished rim, looks more old skool,

I've been driving mine in between the rain here in Wales trying to get 500 miles on the new engine before I go to the dyno,

Ignore the date I forgot to set the camera up, The car pulls really well and make a lovely noise from one of Sean's Z-Story exhausts and the webers , cant wait to get it on the dyno and see what it makes :)

I recently had the rear of mine in the air, and i noticed that the drivers side appeared to point inwards more than the left, while hanging on the suspension.

Back on the ground and rolled backwards and forwards to settle the suspension and it all looked straight and normal again!
I only noticed it because it was in my mind after Paul's initial post about it.

While the hubs are off getting the longer studs fitted, i took the opportunity to clean and paint the calipers in gunmetal grey, also thought i might as well do the new and shiny Toyota replacements at the same time, as they will hopefully be going on soon instead.

I hope your speedo reads fast - 86mph on the queen's Highway ;-)

Sean's exhausts work well - generally all tuned L Series cars make a lovely sound.

Trying to fix a broken hood release catch. So far so good

Just need to get the latch fixed and the hood put back on
