Urgent Lash Pad appeal

I'm going to need some lashpads in the coming month or so, so I checked with precision shims in Oz.
Looks like it'd cost around £80 to £100 per set of 12 all in.
Is that reasonable? Seems on the high side, but I don't know a good cheap source....

Is that reasonable?

What seems reasonable to one member will be unreasonable to another.

I don't know a good cheap source...
The words cheap and good dont often occur in the same description when its for a low volume specialist item made to fine engineering tolerances.

If you were standing at the Kameari parts counter they would be £5.50 each according to their catalogue.

Yes, thats what I'm comparing to :) kameari ones from rhdjapan come in at about £100 per set too.... Which is my default since I trust quality is high.

Well there is no need for further debate then:bow:
Just get them bought.
Have you done a dummy build on one to see what thickness you need.
If not them get thick ones... you can always have them ground down to size but they can never be ground up:D

I can assure you the Lash Pads from Precision Shims in Oz are of very high quality.
AND you get to speak/order from someone who speaks English...

FWIW I'm using them in my new L33 that's going in my 240Z...

Thats good feedback, any chance of you posting some pictures

Something I saw reminded me of this thread. In the end I got shims from these guys in Oz - only place I could get them big enough - 7.5mm. No problem so far.

And for completeness, some of them ended up getting ground a little to precisely centre the wipe pattern. Not sure how many - to paraphrase Skiddell, the head work was bought not built :)

I'm torn on head work. I've spoken to Cnc heads where I think skidell had his done, also to guy croft who's done some work before, he's got amazing OCD on such things!
