Superlite Wheels (UK) - Help I need an ATTORNEY!!

Hi Guys,
I am located here in the states (Florida), and have been attempting to get 4 wheels From Superlite (UK) since August of last year. This has been a nightmare. I did'nt see your negative post relating to this vendor until after I ordered, and paid for the wheels.

I am at wits end, and exhausted. Superlite (Henry Matty) will not respond to voice mail, or e-mail. I cannot even get anyone to answer the phone.

The time has come to get an Attorney. Can anyone recommend an Attorney in the Gloucester area, that would be interested in representing this case? I am prepared to travel to the UK to resolve this matter.

Any assistance offered would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear this.

I have never heard or dealt with this guy, does he have all your money and you have received nothing in return?

Don't know a solicitor in the Gloucester area to recommend, but here is a yellow pages listing for solicitors in Gloucester. I think you would need to find a specialist in Contract Law. CLICK HERE

Good luck, hope it all turns out well in the end.

I think someone on here had trouble with this firm, he may be able to advise you re the action he took. I think it was 'twoforty' you could pm him . hth

Thank you for the replies.
The order was made in early August, with delivery in 4 to 6 weeks. Payment made in full via wire transfer.

In mid/late November 2 wheels showed up. 1 was bent, both were the wrong offset, supposedly the other 2 lost. I could go on, and on to bring you to date, but let me tell you where I am today.

I have 5 wheels, all wheels have 1 or more of the following conditions (most have a variety):
Bent
used parts
scratches, dings, abrasions
incorrect width
incorrect offset
outer barrel used as an inner with welded up valve stem hole (1 wheel)

I think you get the idea. It appears that the used/reject bin was emptied in an effort to fill my order. Additionally I incured $211.99 in cost to return ship a wheel that had the incorrect offset, and was bent. Henry Matty promised a re-imbursement of those cost as soon as I faxed him the bill. That was 2 months ago, still no check.

I appreciate the Trading Standards link. With the inability to contact Superlite (Henry Matty), I believe that I will just retain an attorney.
Perhaps an Attorney, and the Courts, will have better luck communicating with him. You can bet that i am going to pursue this in the most aggresive legal method available.

Superlite? oh dear you're in trouble.
You need to contact the VCA here in the UK, Mr meadows I think is guys name. Henry is a joke, I had to threaten him several times to get my wheels, luckily I cancelled my cheque and already had 4 wheels...with wrong offsets/widths/off central.
it took months to get him to make the replacements.
He has no safety markings on his wheels and it is illegal for him to sell wheels for use on public roads here or in the States.

01452 730500 is Henry's phone number, make sure you can record the conversation, tell him you have spoken to the VCA.
I know he had bought a house in Bulgaria, maybe he is going to do a runner!
He also does a lot of off roading 4x4 (land rover) around the gloucester area, maybe worth googling his name.
good luck

I spoke with Mr. Meadows at the VCA. Because I was located in the states, he did not seem to be concerned that the wheels did not have the proper markings.

Yes he was bragging all about the house he bought in Poland, and his $16 a day contractor that was fixing it up.

Hi ZWOLF and sorry to hear of your problems. If you used a credit card then (due to Consumer Credit Act in UK) the credit card issuer is jointly liable along with the seller of the goods. That means that you can take them both to the Small Claims Court (available online) and even if the seller runs away, the credit card company must pay 100%. Not certain how this applies if you used a US credit card but I believe the country where the transaction occured is where the liability lies and the court can take action.

The recommendation to talk to the Trading Standards people is a good one and you should do this even in parallel with an attorney (I'd do it first). Trading Standards is government body with a remit to protect the consumer and prosecute the faulty seller. So if you get them on your case, just stand back and watch the fireworks.

Good luck - Gio

Here is an example of a wheel center that was shipped to me. Keep in mind that I have close to $3000.00 US wraped up in these wheels. This is the quality that you get. Also, the website indicates that centers will be powder coated. Why is there Gold spray paint allover my new wheels?

Sound's Like this bloke planned this way in advance.A scheme to bodge up
used wheels, tart them up & make a fast buck & then do a runner!
The pic's show how the ding's & dang's have been clagged up & a quick
spray job to make them look 'different' from the initial reject state.
He must have purchased a job lot of reject's weird offsets,un matched
sets etc. Seems quite ruthless & deserve's a loss towards his intended life
& dream oversea's.
Who dares win's? He's a loser.........DJZ 60.

I hope you get sorted mate & hope he gets what he deserves.
