P**s (yellow) poor project !

Yeh grille looks good. In fact there are a lot of fancy bits on it!

What is the modern attraction to blue hoses, can't understand it myself.

I'll never put a blue hose on my car not even my blue 350 or blue VR6!

Let's talk about it at Le Mans over a glass of red!

Like this ?

Blue ? Because what colour choices are there ? Pale yellow would have been nice but doesn't exist, I couldn't get black and blue matches.......the oil filter... !

I'm taking care of the red wine - you lot can buy the cheap plong rosé and keep it cool - you can't do any damage there ! Looking forward to sharing a few litres with you !

Motor assisted power steering systems are commercially available for about £1200 new- all in (I was quoted recently). Rather than use a parasitic pump to pressurise hydraulics, the motor system "senses" steering wheel movement/rate then applies power assistance direct to the steering column, the advantage is that if the system fails then you still have a direct mechanical link through to the rack, and the "feel" is supposed to be better than conventional power steering systems -- been around for a while, particularly on certain Vauxhalls (which can be used as doners)
Can I have some more info on this, e.g. which Vauxhalls

Nope - sorry, I've been sworn to secrecy but I assure you that it IS the dogs' danglies and having driven an 'ordinary' steered Z recently, I'm happy to have paid the difference !

I love te way Dave has done the inside of your engine bay Sean, it looks REALLY clean - my favourite Z is that of Sato-san, again, a very sparse, clean, well engineered engine bay.

The hybrid grill looks really good too - mesh and slats together ....

New Toyo shoes, brand new S12 gearbow and a cute starter motor that sounds so much better (and works better too) than the dinosaur Nissan original one !

Gearbox is the 'wotsits  - thanks for the advice Skiddy !

Even had the wheels sand-blasted and painted. Now, track-days.......... !

Weight

Just weighed the car in road legal format :

spare wheel
warning triangle
First Aid kit
Bulb kit
Extinguisher
plus full reservoir, radio/CD, amp and speakers, tools and bits and bobs in the car

1170kg

The (recently calibrated) weighbridge is accurate to 10kg and was reading between 1160 and 1180kg.

I brimmed it and the station is only 4 kms from the 'bridge and I drove gently !

Is petrol heavier than water ? I reckon that by whipping out the spare, emptying the car of all the rest of the crap and having 20 litres in, I could approach 1100 kg.

Ditch the stereo and speakers and get an iPod shuffle for 20 squid. Save yourself lots of excess weight and the sound quality will be infinitely better (that is if you really need music in a car that has a soundtrack like that...)

It'd take me ages to trace and rip out all the DJR wiring to two seperate batteries.........and I like the option to change simply (I'm almost old-fashioned) the CD !

Just wait 'til you've your licence and you come over here boyo - we's gonna burn rubber !

Is there any part of the Z that that guy doesn't know about? Blimey, best leave it in then. To change song on a 'shuffle' you just shake it by the way. Annoying if you have parkinsons...

(DISCLAIMER: IT IS NOT THE OPINION OF THE ZCLUB AS AN ORGANISATION TO BELITTLE ANYONE SUFFERING FROM ANY AILMENT. I'M JUST BEING A TWAT SO IF YOU'RE OFFENDED BY MY COMMENTS, PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW WITH AN INTERNET CONNECTION ABOUT HOW I POST ON HERE AND TO COME AND LOOK AT HOW CONTROVERSIAL I AM)

Surpringly, with the suspensions et-up that I have, I don't have any CD 'jumping' effects ! DJR is a qualified and well-experienced BT engineer................and ailement is with an 'e' !
