new classified system is poor.

So did I lol was quite happy until I saw the price!

Is this the first issue thats come up here, I'm fairly new but it sounds like some peeps have a personal beef with admin!

Maybe another vote that everyone actually knows about could solve this..?

Not really a personal beef, its just easy to poke jibes (at the ones who put many hours of their own time into making sure that the place keeps running), thinking they're doing the world a favour

I think the problem was (and is on other sites) that certain people utilise the site to their own ends, they have no intention of contributing but are happy to use the bandwidth to pocket a few quid. Many sites do not allow non paid up members to even sell at all. I can see both sides of the arguments. For instance if i missed out on buying a rare part (as a paid up member) to someone that signed up just to get the part, I would start to think why the hell do i bother paying up.

Ebay charges to sell. On here you can all still advertise for free, so you are getting more exposure for no extra cost. If your parts do not sell on ebay in 7 days, you then get the opportunity for your ad on here to be put out to a wider audience.

If there is a good supply of rust free parts, why can you not sell them?

I guess the club is just that.. a club. It is not a compare type website that gets a fraction of any transactions, it is there to provide a service to its members (Customers really) and this is just an attempt to secure the availability of those parts to its members.

The only thing that would be better was if non paid up members could see their own ads, that would make sense really.

Do you know what your talking about ? Hardly anything sells on the forum anyway !! ebay has a far wider audience. As for the imported panels they where going to be by pre arrangement as there is no point shipping them over for people to take the piss. Suggest you all go to your local scrappy to get them instead. I am a big believer of one thing in life its not what you know it who you know & like to share that with fellow Z owners to save them from getting screwed. But after this fiasco fuck the lot of you. Can you refund my membership fee please

I do not much really to be honest with you

but if hardly anything sells, why the uproar?

I am not trying to stir the brown stuff at all. Maybe the new system could be tested for X amout of time and then maybe a revote at the next AGM?

At the end of the day whatever is done has to be in the best interest of the members and without trialling things no one will ever know.

Could you not do a group buy on these panels and start a list up?

Ever the shining wit eh Rob....sorry "Sunshine"
As this is a democracy:lol: then the democratic process is to debate via a forum (which was a place for debate in ancient Rome)

I'm not trying to impose anything on anybody sunshine ;), I did say that I didn't like the for sale section myself, But for other reasons than your complaint, So do as I did and speak to the admin privately about your concerns rather than dragging this sorry subject up on a weekly basis.

Haven't you got better things to be doing with your time like screwing another nano second out of your 1/4 mile times or something ? ;).

A good idea would NOt give us the option to choose between placing ad for members and non members.
Or word it different.
Just the fact we specifically go for the option for a bigger audience and then have to wait for approval.
Just for it to over ruled and what is it exactly your approving?

Read the thread, they're not being approved, they're being placed in the correct section - ie members only for 7 days in order to offer yet another membership benefit - early access to parts for sale/wanted. If it doesn't sell in 7 days then it goes to the whole forum. Why does 7 days make such a big difference? Its not permanent, its 7 days ffs.

I totally agree with the above but this has gone beyond simple debate its more of a personal attack on the admin, And I have been guilty of doing it myself. I was wrong then and a lot of these guys are wrong now.

By the way I''m not accusing you the above because I know you don't lower yourself to personal attacks ;) (here's hoping :p).

I'm all for debate and if a second vote on the matter would make everybody happy then why not, I'd still vote for the seven days myself but some of the others might of been brow beaten enough to change their minds .

That is what the thread was about but was taken down as soon as it was posted. It is a real shame but there we go such is life, we could have got William back into the scene after all these years. Will recons they are a bunch of knobs not wanting to help out their members with cars & panels etc but there we go he'll just go away again.

Pretty much what I'm thinking. Plus I'm a paying member now so I want first dibs before people who don't pay. Simples.

Well from my dealings with the members of the committee on a personal level, Will is most certainly wrong. They are not a bunch of "knobs" they are a bunch of men that give their own time to try and keep a club going, they may well make mistakes doing it..dont we all!

I am sure if you just ask to start a group buy they will be more than happy. It is pretty standard on the forums I am on to clear it first before starting one, maybe it was deleted whilst all the changes were made with selling and classifieds. I am sure they will be more than happy to get some momentum on getting decent panels over to members, that's what the club is for and why they tried to make sure paid up members got first access to classifieds, it was with good intention.

I would buy one but I doubt they will fit my 300!:)

Just seen your pm, what now then ? I will leave it to you guys, all I can say is he will not bring the stuff over if nobody is in line for it & that anything that may be brought over will have an accurate description. Gift horse mouth spring to mind.

andy, sorry for being harsh but it's hit a nerve
.
but why are we given the choice when placing an ad?
if your going to just place it back.
i'm presuming if i chose members only it would stay closed to the non-members, period?
it needs a quick note to explain with both options.
not everyone trawls through the forums to know the system,
