    I agree, but more often than not bodges are well hidden and the children down at Kwikfit cant see it.

    I bought a UK car like that with an MoT - the one on the rally clip I recently posted. I got it re-MoT'd too. When I took it off the road to repair it I was amazed how bad it was. So perhaps the MoT isn't a lot of use after all. :smash:

    Just as an addendum to this it would appear that the 40 yr mot exception is being done on...

    1. Registered date only

    2. As a rolling 40 yr basis based on the reg date not the 1st of Jan the following yr . So if was built on Feb 20th 78 it becomes exempt after Feb 20th 18 etc

    Still can't tax old cars without an MOT as yet it would seem.
