Well i finally made it home :) only 2 hours later than planned

Good weekend

Back safely from The LakeZ Meet, a superb venue chosen by Martinmac, Once again blessed with indifferent weather (how did so many of us get sunburned?) Not such a high attendance as last year but it was good to meet up with friends old and new and see a few more 240/60's back on the road. The Heaves Hotel is a great venue and a good place to stay. Comfortable accomodation and the food was superb.

A bit of jiggling with the bookings prevented Steve Burns and Paul Wrangle from sharing a double four poster bed but Burnsie still woke up as the hotel ghost strolled past his bed in the early hours!

Well done Martin. Same again next year

Now peeps, don't miss another great event, get your names down for Zed - Fest in August.

Love the pic's guys and glad it was not a wash out. I thought I recognised one of the 350Z Convertible which was on the Irish Z trip but when I checked my photo's it had a different reg.

Gaz,
The 350 vert shown above that was on the Irish trip was Paul Wrangle's, he drove up to the Lakez with me in his red 280Zx 2+2 that is amongst the earlier photos

Tell Paul I said hello Steve:thumbs: and hope you old boys didn't partake in to much heavy drinking:cheers:

I can report that they were very well behaved. Once the issue of sharing a four poster bed was sorted anyway.

I had booked the room for them and jokingly said its two guys so give them a double. It kind of rebounded, when they checked in they were given a room with a four poster. Fortunately my room had a single and a double so we swapped.

A belated thanks to Martin for organising a great weekend, and thanks to Liz and Ian too. Both Mandy and myself had a brilliant time and will almost certainly be joining in again next year.

What an amazing venue too! The hospitality from the hotel was very much appreciated, with above and beyond service than what we would normally expect, and set in the perfect surroundings for a car meet.

It was also great to get to personally meet so many of my 'internet chums', and to make some new friends from other forums too.

There was plenty to do there too, and although I'd have enjoyed a bit of karting or a blast around the windy roads, we decided to do the 'couples' thing on Saturday and have a trip on the steam train and (steam?) boat, which was fantastic. We even had another couple to do the trip with who both seemed to have a lovely time too, eh Steve?!

I'm ashamed to say it, but I didn't take any pictures of any of our cars apart from one dodgy phone pic from our bedroom window shortly after arriving on the Friday.
