Edit: in those photos, would I be right in saying the lower section of the G nose has been trimmed slightly in the front of the arches to increase clearance (I know you've mentioned this as quite common on a thread on classiczcars I think)?

Yes, well spotted. You have a good eye!

The rearmost corners of the lower panel on Jane's car have been cut back in the same way that so many genuine ZGs have over the years ( including my GP Maroon car.... ). There was a neat little 'kick' in the OEM moulding there which tended to get caught on full lock with wider wheels / tyres, especially when the car is lowered. There's actually a trend amongst some ZG owners in Japan to repair / reinstate them these days when they are going for the full showroom look.....

I remember you snapping up the other white ZG a while back - have you done anything with it yet or have any tentative plans for it in your mind's eye?

It's completely stripped to a bare shell, and mounted on a body rotisserie at the moment. Taking them apart takes just a few days work, and putting them back together seems to take years. I think I just like the carchaeological side of it, and the / reasearch / logistical planning / gathering of parts.

Long-term plans ( and they always seem to end up being long term.... ) are something of a period-correct Works / semi-Works circuit race car at the moment; a lookalike of one particular not-very-well-known race car. I've got a lot of the 'right' parts hanging on the wall or up in the loft, and it seems rude not to use them for something practical. Watch this space ( but please don't hold your breath....... ;) ).

From Goodwood I went straight to a local meet that I attend from time to time at the Hayling Billy Pub, Hayling Island.
Its a small classic meet although the organiser says anything interesting is welcome. its held from 11:00am every Sunday from clocks change to clocks change during the winter months and 7.00pm every Wednesday during the summer evenings. worth a look and a run out if you live that way.

a few pics I grabbed. :D
