Rob - the gearbox issue is not such an unknown expense - it's been done so many times now and the necessary work is not rocket science nor 'huge'. Don't waste time swapping for a 'good' 4spd, just throw in the S14 box with the car as one of 'the' upgrades. The UK is in a recession, it's not time related as in 'that time of the year' - people simply aren't spending - gas and electricity prices, ULEZ and the like.....people are concerned about making it to the end of the year without debt.

I think that is what I will do Sean - had this been part of a longer plan I would be fitting it - but happy to see it go to a good home ( and hopefully future contributer on here ) and someone prepared to take that on .

I have the option of putting it in storage - but how long until people are confident enough to start spending again - Quelle est la longueur d'une ficelle.

( if that last sentence is rubbish - blame google translate …)

I understand it but I doubt the French would get it - irony flies over their heads :)

The most valuable commodity to anyone these days is 'time'. Those with the money will buy a turn-key car, those 'without' hesitate and one sees many 'unfinished projects' up on ebay these days with little chance of selling in the near future.
Fo what it's worth, being a LHD, I've passed the word around over here - one never knows.

👍. I made the effort .

You are so right Sean . Working harder and longer to stay still financially is just commonplace these days . Hopefully it’s just a case of waiting - right person / right car .

My wife always says -“ there’s someone out there for everyone. . . . Even you you knobhead “ I’m sure she loves me really .

Appreciate the share Sean …

Sean, if someone new to Datsuns buys it they may not appreciate the work involved and neither may their chosen garage. Also are they going to check the gbox over or try it as is?

Is the diff a good match for an S14?

The S14 is a great upgrade I agree. Had 3 cars with it.

Rob - please dont try and start an argument with Sean here - if you dont mind. Start another thread

If someone new ( or experienced ) to Datsuns buys it they will be fully briefed by me - and referred to this and several other websites - its not a blind auction. They will appreciate the work involved .

The S14 box is a slight outlier mentioned on its own . I bought it with a view to a gearbox and diff swap - but as ive said - assuming the buyer doesnt know - they will be made aware . i arent out to mislead anyone.
