Can't you tell from the engine pic? BTW I'm not being sarky, just would've thought a turbo would have different pipe work to a NA.

Wonder if he'd miss the gearbox? :D

Not a Z31 freak myself, but I reckon a non-turbo. Assumption being that turbo's didn't have chrome around the windows.

Perhaps we should have another poll ;)

Why isn't it Z related

Normal ebay procedure is to click on "ask seller a question" button and follow the simple instructions.

Just in case the seller has gone away for a week or so to avoid answering simple questions Ill do it for him .........
"reply from seller" "its a non turbo, M8. Turbos say TURBO on top of the engine and they have a boost guage in the centre of the dash in a row of three instruments. thank you for your enquiry are you going to bid?"

Hi,
The engine bay photo isn't very clear, but the most obvious differences are, a Turbo car would have "Turbo 3000" lettering on the intake cover instead of just "3000"....There would be a boost release valve on the driver's side of the plenum cover and the cam covers would be finished in red crackle paint instead of silver.

The exterior of the car has NA chrome trim and wheels and the smaller NA front spoiler, with no rear spoiler.

The interior photo is of little help, as the Turbo car has the same number of dashboard dials, except that the NA's ammeter is replaced by a boost gauge in the far left recessed guage!

Thankyou pmac and others - I confess to knowing bugger little about the Z31s, facelifts especially ! If I preferred to ask the question here and not the seller it was to generate some feedback - Steve Burns told me I must create at least 2 new subjects per month or Pauline will have my hairies !

So, there are non turbos with manual boxes then ? I would have thought that autos worked better with turbos ???

I'm after a Z31 turbo, not expensive, not necessarily the cleanest but with all working bitz !

LSD would be nice but I'm advised this was a US option - does anyone have any trouble putting the power down ?

Hi,
All UK Facelift Turbo cars had LSD's.US Turbos are more often autos...but we were never given this option in the UK.Most NA's tend to be auto, although there are a few manuals out there.
You shouldn't have any trouble putting the power down in the dry, but wet weather needs a degree of caution!

Thanks Jez !
Can you send me some photos in detail of the interiro of your car - I've never poked my nose in one before ?

All UK Facelift Turbo cars had LSD's

No U.K. turbo Z31s have an LSD - available as an option on USA (and probably other foreign market cars), but not listed for the U.K. Also note that LSD driveshafts are different, so if you ever come across a USA Turbo for breaking and you want the LSD, get the shafts as well or you will be...

Hi,
Have a look at these pictures from the 1988 brochure....

I never doubted you Mike but assumed that an owner of the very car would know ! Maybe that's why they're tricky in the wet Jez !

Hi,
They're not tricky to drive in the wet.... the original road test cars used Japanese Dunlops, which didn't have much grip, but as long as you use decent tyres and drive it with respect, there's no problem.
Buy a car with cheap or old, hard, perished tyres and the story may be different!
I was led to believe that UK facelift Turbos had the lsd...but it's not something I've really looked into before ....Mike obviously knows his stuff though!
