Z Farm 260Z

On a different subject, checked on the annual classic guide price book (can't remember which one) in Asda the other day.
Finally realistic figures on value of the 240's.
With excellent examples value of £29k.

They are, although some panels are slightly different but the late 260z 2 seater is more rare than the more common 240Z and 2 mph faster, but i think the 260z 2+2 estate is even more rare but looks the nuts when lowerd and a decent set of arches and wheels are added, ooh im such a bitch at times

My first z (bought new in 1974) was a 260z 2+2. I subscribed to the Z Club in the late 70's but found a 2-seater snobbery which frankly made me uncomfortable to the point that back then I really didn't want to be involved. I have driven 240z's and 260 (2 seater) z's. For me the latter (260z) was the best car with a little more refinement be stronger performance than the 240z. The 2+2 has its own identity and I am aware that there is a preoccupation with modifications these days. As a marque though they are unique and should have a place in the development of the Z. There really weren't may true 2+2 sports about in the 70's (there was a Lotus Elan, an E-Type Jaguar, a Jenson Interceptor, a Stag and one or two more and all regularly appear at shows). C'mon chaps (and chapess's) lets regard all the early Z's as something special and equally worthy.

I personally think the only car that did 2+2 well was the Z! If you ever put an E-type 2+2 next to it's 2 seater sister, it looks just wrong!! Datsun managed to keep the lines so well on the 2+2!

Im still amazed they used the the surplus rear quarter panels from the 1971 FORD mustang mach1 on the 2+2.
