Z club speed championship

Yup, the drag challenge is definately something I'd be interested in as well. Never done it before but it's something I've wanted to have a go at for ages. :)

Maybe interesting for some but not for others, personally I am only interested in the Z drag race challenge and not hillclimbs sprints etc.. so if it were made mandatory to compete in the other tests I wouldnt bother. Maybe we could make a different group for people who want to compete in all the autotests you describe and keep a category free for those that just want to participate in just the Z drag challenge.

I was not suggesting that you had to compete in the speed challenge to do any of the events that are going on. What the suggestion was that if you wanted to try the different disciplines then why not have a championship that covered all the rounds. The drag championship would still run it's own course for those that wanted to drag race only. The hillclimbers would still go hillclimbing and sprinting and the auto testers would still go auto testing. But at the end of the year those that had entered the speed championship would have thier results entered and positions worked out for the overall results. The last thing i wanted to do was to cause people not to bother entering an event. ben

im up for the drag challenge, is there a section for women drivers ( just got to learn to wheel spin first lol):) :Z32:
I think that if you did compete then you would be the second women driver to be driving in a Z in competition at the moment. So come on in and join the fun. Dee seems to enjoy it.

I like the idea of a sprint too, i assume you needs specific insurance? can you take out insure to cover you car for individual events?

You can get motorsport insurance but the cost I think is quite high. The thing with drag race, sprints and hillclimbs is that you are the only one on the track at the time and racing against the clock, therefore the risk of accident is lower than if you were circiut racing or dare i say it on a track day where you have to consider what other cars are doing and run the risk of being collected in someone elses mishap. Colin's info on hillclimbs and sprints is pretty much spot on. Standard cars can run and drivers have a lot of fun driving at these meetings just the same as standard cars at a drag race or rally. If you take part in a track day with your car then in my opinion you are putting yourself and your car at more risk of damage than if you compete in a sprint, hillclimb, dragrace or autotest.

For drag racing you've just got to learn NOT to wheel spin!:D

Traction is the key....
YES!! I learnt that the hard way! :D
