Z Club "Back to Billing " and "The Retro Car Show" Weekend
Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd July 2005

This year the Z Club is having a Z car only show at Billing. So there will be more room and less noise!!

Friday and Saturday

Events will be based at Billing Aquadrome, Great Billing, Northampton, NN3 9DA, in Shelduck Meadow 1. There will be a designated area were we can camp together. Friday afternoon/night will be an opportunity to set up and catch up with fellow Zedders. Billing has places to eat in and take out, a supermarket and licensed bars. Or, as many of us will be doing, bring along the disposable BBQ and a few beers. There will be a marquee to provide some shelter. Billing charges £15 per car (up to 6 people – like to see that in a 240Z!!) per night which includes free showers, a day pass costs £10. Prices correct at time of going to press (check www.billingaquadrome.com).

Saturday

Will see the 2005 Z Club Car awards and the Z Club Concours D’Elegance. The Concours will be judged at 12.00 noon, if you wish to enter the Concours you need to get in touch with Steve Lack ASAP so he can book a judge, please phone him on 0208 290 0021 or 07980 606914.During the day there will be other fun and games including a raffle.

The Z Club AGM will take place in the afternoon, if you cannot attend but wish an issue to be added to the agenda please contact Suzy (see details below)

Sunday

You can choose to chill out at Billing or join the convoy to The Retro Car Show, Santa Pod Raceway, Northants.

This is the UK’s only car show dedicated to the modified classic scene and will be attended by hundreds of the Uks best-modified classics from the 60s. 70s and 80s. There will be an extensive range of trade stands, a cars for sale area, Retrojumble, helicopter rides and mobile rolling road plus non-stop ¼-mile sprint action where the ultimate retro rivals will be competing for top prizes for the fastest times of the day.

The Z Club is organising a twenty car space for you to display and also participate in the drag strip action if you wish. Cost of these pre-paid tickets will be £8.00 to Z Club members, saving £5.00 on the gate admission price and providing Club parking rather than getting lost in the public area. Passengers will have to pay full price at the gate on entry. If you want to attend please contact Mike on 01277 374201 to discuss or send cheque payable to M. Feeney to Park View, Ongar Road, Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood, Essex, CM15 0DF or PayPal £8.00 to mike@mjpauto.go-plus.net with your car entry details. First come first served – when they’re gone they’re gone...

The less noise bit will appeal to the older persons like Porky Burns and Grolls and Pmac ECT

Sorry to disappoint you Status, but Pmac has no interest whatsoever in sitting in fields, camping or disposable BBQs. Having brought up two daughters(now 16/21yrs ) I am well used to the sounds of loud modern music, and its OK by me.
This is just another forlorn attempt by a section of the club to recreate the past.
Let me quote our Chairman..."The club's profile must extend to the ever-more prolific modern Japanese car events....in the hope of encouraging younger generations into the Club." (taken from Spring 2005 mag)
So what happens? Lets all go camping in a meadow BY OURSELVES like we used to do in the eighties.
Another Classic Z Register in the making?? Or just a Camping division perhaps.

Plus they can Graze as they laze on the spacious pastures, normally taken up
by the 'fast & furious' brigade. Tranquility, it'll almost be like a nice retirement
home for some.....................................DJZ 60.:D

You're like James Dean, A living legend ,only he's dead & you're not,but yes
ever green comes to mind...............................

Hi,
We should be going, depending on work!....may have to miss the Sheffield Show instead!
It's good that the Z Club caters for all tastes and is not just aiming at the fashionable loud stereo and bling brigade or just the older members!
If you want fast 'n' furious then attend the JAE at Peterborough, if you want a more relaxing weekend, go to Billing....Or go to both!
Cheerz,
JEZ

Billing

Hopefully should be there with the clan as they say never know i might dig ol` freebird out for a drive !!!!!!!! but i cannot understand the negativity(big word getting serious) about the `older brigade ` this show started it all off and hav had many a great laugh over the years at billing and i still like the fast and furious of jae aswell .My kids luv it at billing especially last year with all what was goin on but they are still lookin forward to how it was ,richie can just remeber that i think :p

I'll be there. These events are what you make of them. I can do quiet and chilled or loud and mashed, either way if it's good company i enjoy myself.

Hi Nick.
That's the spirit! If you can do all that ,than you've got a job in Don's
fantaztic Z-Birdy cafe. P.s You have a nice motor........DJZ 60.

Hi,
I see from the Billing Aquadrome web site, that there are several other car rallies happening there over the same weekend, including the TR Drivers Club, Marcos owners Club and the Smart Car Extravaganza!
Do you think any of them will be having a "Flame Off " like they are at the JAE!:D
Cheerz,
JEZ
