WTF do MJP (Eastern Auto) do anyway? Part 2 of a short mini-series

Part 2:

We order from Nissan every single working day and have a delivery from them every single working day. Each day's order deadline is 11-00am.

We give discount to owners on all parts where the price structure allows it. This might be just 0 to 5% on what Nissan like to call "captive parts", but soars to a whopping 20% discount on most service items. Body and suspension parts are usually 10-15% discounted. Exhausts (where still available) and many brake components are at 20% discount.

If parts are held in UK stock at Lutterworth, we get them here next day and out with the courier or post the same day. Because we work via a large Nissan Trade Centre, I feel that we are often able to offer a better service than your Nissan main dealer (who knows diddly about Zs anyway).
If parts are held in the European distribution centre (Amsterdam), then parts take about one week to get here. In reality, the system usually exceeds official expectations and we have them in just a few days.
For many parts we have to go back to the original Japanese stores. Parts which go ex-Japan officially take three weeks to arrive. Sometimes better, sometimes longer. Either way, they are in the post or with the courier on the day they arrive here.

It is still quite amazing just how many parts are still available for cars produced up to 44 years ago. However, it should be taken as a warning that parts are regularly becoming "no longer for sale" through official Nissan channels - not just oddball 240Z parts, but quite important parts for later Z32s. Anything over 10 years old will be at risk!

We don't mind what we order. It can be anything from a few nuts, screws and washers all the way up to major panels for bodywork.

There are, of course, alternatives for some of the older parts which disappear from Nissan's lists - see Part 3!
